Planet Art is growing from strength to strength as proprietor of the Gallery Sudhanshu Paliwal sounds more enthusiastic than any other gallery owner in Delhi. Sudhanshu, an engineer by education and a management man by training has drifted into the field of art and music quite accidentally. But his kin sense of art coupled with his understanding of the market dynamics has given him an edge which is quite unique. During the month of November and december 2007, Planet Art remained the only profit making gallery in entire Delhi. While the market showed a general dowward trait, Paliwal's Planet Art showed positive growth in sales.

Though Planet Art has an impressive collection of senior artists like M.F Husain, Tyeb Mehta and even a rare Ravi Verma, Planet art stands out for finding out real forces of future. This is one area where most galleries fumble. While on an average most galleries in Delhi launches upto ten new artists every year, only few galleries have ensured constant growth of these new artists. This is where Paliwal stands apart.

He has launched this year young artist Anita Singh whose all the paintings sold on the first day itself. Then he had conducted an exhibition of rare works of Gopal Sanyal. Artist Devajyoti Ray has also engaged into a tie-up with the Planet Art. Some of the very important works of this artist can also be found at Planet Art.

The same day the Gallery will be organising an Art Camp sponsored by Planet Art. Art Afficionados might catch a glimpse of well known artists like Devajyoti Ray and Sudip Roy at the camp. Planet Art which has in recent past registered phenomenal growth even in the face of recession in the Art Market deserves all the credit for this wonderful new camp.

From 17th December Planet Art would also be holding a conceptual show of recent works of artists Devajyoti Ray, Manish Pushkale, Anita Singh, Chintan Upadhyay. A must see.

From 27th December, Lokayat Gallery will host an exhibition of Tribal Art forms. The festival will close everyday with the screening of international classic movies. This will include films by cult directors like Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman, Lui Bunuel, Sergei Eisenstein, etc. Also ther would be a show of a documentary on the life and time of Mulk Raj Anand directed by Sarad Dutt.
